East Cross Church - Benevolence Request

You are deeply loved by God, and you matter to us. We know that financial hardship can bring stress, uncertainty, and difficult decisions. Please know that you don’t have to walk through this season alone.

Our Benevolence Ministry exists to offer compassionate support to individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship and have exhausted their available resources. While we may not be able to meet every need, we want to come alongside you with care, prayer, and practical assistance whenever possible.

Some things that we have been able to help people with in the past include:

Utility Bills: Gas, Electric, Water
Connections to a food banks
Gasoline (Max $30.00)
School supplies for school-aged children

Some of the things that we are not designed to assist with include:

Medical bills or Prescriptions
Debts (credit card payments & loans)
Rent & mortgage payments
Legal expenses
Cable/Streaming Services or Phone Bills

The Benevolence Ministry is funded through the generosity of East Cross Church members and friends. No government funds are accepted or used for this purpose. All Benevolence funds are managed in accordance with church policies set forth through our Church Council.

Benevolence is not designed for on-going assistance and is available once per household in a 12-month period.

Our Benevolence process includes the following steps:

Complete a Benevolence Request application (below).
If requesting utility assistance, email a copy of your bill to aimeeb@eastcross.org. Make sure it is the complete bill with your name, address, account number and amount due visible. Blurry photos will not be accepted. Put your name and Benevolence Request in the subject line of the email.
The Benevolence Ministry Team will review the application and your bill.
You'll receive an email or a phone call letting you know if you have been chosen to receive assistance.

Our multi-step process can take up to 5-7 days to complete. Approved assistance is not paid in cash, and is paid directly to service providers (utility provider, etc.). Going through the Benevolence process does not guarantee you will get monetary assistance. The Benevolence Ministry Team reserves the right to refuse any applicant due to failure to submit proper documentation and/or identification.

Important:

The amount of assistance provided will be determined based on the specific need and available church resources.
There may be limits on the amount of assistance given to an individual or family within a specified timeframe.
Decisions will be made based on the applicant's financial need, the availability of funds, and alignment with the church's mission to provide assistance.
