Pianist – Traditional Worship Service
Jan is a native Minnesotan, raised on a dairy farm outside of Sebeka, MN. She attended North Dakota State University (GO BISON!!) and graduated with a major in Merchandising/Retailing and 3 minors in Music, Business and Communications. She married a native North Dakotan-Dwayne, and they have lived in Illinois twice, Minnesota, and have now lived in Oklahoma for 20 years.
Her working career prior to her son’s arrival was as a Purchasing Agent/Inventory Control/Customer Service Supervisor in the McDonald’s Distribution system and Foodservice/Grocery industry.
After Kellen’s arrival, Jan became a stay-at-home mom and focused on kid organizations and projects. She rejoined the work force as Computer Lab Manager at Hoover Elementary, directed Woolaroc Summer Camps for 2 years, Event Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, owned a Drama Kids franchise, worked as Accompanist/Assistant for Madison Middle School choirs and currently works as a East Cross Traditional Worship musician.
Her volunteering has included Children’s Musical Theatre, Allied Arts and Humanities, HS/MH Choir Boosters, District and HS safety committees, various school district planning committees, parent groups at her son’s schools, and leading children’s music at East Cross.
Jan has played piano since she was 7 years old and trumpet since 5th grade. She enjoys camping/hiking, spending time with her family, bragging on NDSU football (6-time National Champs), and keeping busy.
